Getting ready for Amazon
The real Amazon (jungle), not the web site!

In a few days I will be leaving for another assignment in wet lands of Ecuador's Amazon. It is a TV pilot project and it will be shot on HD, with Sony EX1 camera.
This will be a perfect opportunity to "prove or kill" this system in harsh conditions. The shoot will be 4 days long, small cast and crew.

I took all the shots and pills needed, gear is almost ready. Few more last minute running around.
I am taking my M8 system with me. This is the reason why I got digital rangefinder: small, portable, just perfect to go along with all the pro video gear. I did take this kit a few times with me on previous video jobs :

Miami Beach:

You can see full series here.

Than to Montreal:

You can see the series here.

And, of course I did major stock shooting with it in Panama:

This will be the time and place to see if this Leica is going to make it. Stay tuned...

This  blog is  on line diary of
Steven S. Miric, photographer and cameraman living and working in Toronto, Canada.

He picked up his father's Zorki rangefinder when he was a teenager, and since than a photo camera was never out of his sight (and mind). Along came the film school, movies and TV work. Still, photography is a big part.

Since they came to Toronto, Steven and his family never lived far from the downtown, always on the East side.

You can find more of Steven's work here:
